FAQs

Will I definitely get a house if I join?
Every member has the opportunity to move closer to home ownership. Allocation depends on the growth of the community fund and the number of subscribers. The more members we have, the faster homes can be purchased. By joining, you play an active role in making this possible for yourself and others.

Is my money protected?
Yes. All money is held in an approved UK bank account and is fully insured. For transparency, members will receive quarterly statements showing how funds are being used.

How is the queue for housing decided?
Membership is organised on a first-come, first-served basis. When you subscribe, you are given a number in the queue. As you move closer to the top, your number decreases, making it easy to track your progress.

Is Happy Destiny regulated?
Yes. Happy Destiny CIC is governed by UK Community Interest Company (CIC) laws and statutes. We are required to submit annual reports to Companies House, which ensures transparency, accountability, and compliance.

Do I own the house straight away?
Homes are initially held in the name of the CIC. Once you have completed all repayments, the title deed is transferred into your name, giving you full ownership.

Who runs Happy Destiny?

What happens if I leave Happy Destiny?
If you choose to leave, your membership number will be reserved for one month in case you decide to return. If not, your place in the queue will be passed to the next member, ensuring the community fund continues to progress smoothly.

Why are subscriptions non-refundable?
Subscriptions go directly into the community housing fund, where they are used for the benefit of all members. For this reason, they cannot be withdrawn, as they are already committed to community purposes.
